St. Mary's Food Bank provides emergency food assistance to our clients on a once a month basis. A typical family of four receives a 7 to 10 day supply of food. Each of these families are given a "personalized food pack" that addresses their particular needs. Every effort is made to create food packs made up of basic and important items that provide "menu-based" and balanced nutritious meals.
St. Mary's Food Bank implemented a special custom-made program of "My Plate" developed for us by the Health and Dietetic department of Idaho State University. This program ensures that we provide food from each required food group (Grains, Fruits, Vegetables, Protein & Dairy) to deliver the proper nutritious levels needed for families and the overall health and development of children, In essence, the "My Plate" program facilitates what and how much goes into the food "Box" that feeds the "Family."
